Overnight in Roissy-en-France …

You sometimes find the nicest places by accident. Whilst this end of Roissy is full of hotels, just up the hill there is a lovely village with quite a bit of history. It might be a more popular place to visit if it wasn’t jammed up against the main Paris airport, Aéroport de Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle.

After a smooth TGV trip from Avignon to Paris Gare de Lyon, I took a cab to my hotel, on the basis that it would save lumping my case up and down stairs on the Metro. A good idea stymied by roadworks on most of the roads we took, with a resultant higher fare.

Looking for something to eat I found that Roissy-en-France is a lovely village, with a standout church, and a fair bit of history around the centre, and a well stocked boulangerie.

Well worth the cab fare …
