You might think that I am being pretentious, writing headings in French, but the term ‘sons et lumières’ is one I have known for a long time, after all, my father was in the lighting industry at one time … and such sound and light shows were part of his work.
The Pont-du-Gard is a UNESCO heritage site not far from Avignon, it’s the remains of a Roman aquaduct that supplied the city of Nimes with water for 500 years. It’s a major tourist attraction and of course there is a sound and light show in the evening. Following a medieval fete with a sound and light show picnic seemed like a sensibe idea, clearly a lot of people thought so as the area was full of people waiting for dark.

It was worth waiting for, the early part was just fancy lighting but later in the evening stories were told by the lightshow and music.
