The ‘Capital of Spies’ according to local writer Emil Bobi. In his book Die Schattenstadt (The Shadow City), he estimates that there are more than 7,000 secret agents and spies currently working in Vienna, more than in any other city. Tourist operators in the city refer to this, some more than others.
There is a Harry Lime tour, of course, following in the footsteps of Orson Welles’ character, Harry Lime, from the late forties British film noir, but there is much more than that.
Beatiful buildings, great public transport, museums of all kinds, and plenty of music and food to suit most tastes. Even a row of railway arch garages reminiscent of sixties London, and in one of them a Triumph sports car !

And who of the philosophers amongst us would not wish to catch a tram to Freidrich Engels* Platz?
